Cat creates wedding images and videos in an editorial, story telling fashion. Her background is as a photojournalist and writer. She launched her wedding photojournalism business in 2005 alongside her editorial career. Wedding photojournalism has been her primary focus since 2011. She brings her photojournalistic, relaxed and colorful approach to wedding photography and videography.
In her day-to-day life, Cat really doesn't go anywhere without her camera. She is both a romantic and a nostalgic--kind of a magic bullet for a wedding photojournalist. She loves capturing weddings because there are endless candid moments and emotion.
Cat's wedding photojournalism has been featured on national blogs like Wedding Chicks, The Knot, Offbeat Bride, and Rustic Wedding Chic as well as regional magazines such as Vermont Bride Magazine and Vermont Vows.
Cat’s photojournalism career began in New York, as a weekly fashion column photographer for the New York Press, a regular cover-story shooter for amNewYork and the Chief staff Photographer at TimesLedger Newspapers in Queens where she was honored as ‘Photographer of the Year’ by the New York Press Association. Her photos have also apeared in Budget Travel Magazine, Golf World Magazine, New York Post and AOL.
Later, she became the staff photographer at Half Moon Bay Review in the San Francisco Bay Area where she was awarded first place by California News Publishers Association for her photojournalism on humpback whales. In addition, she was a staff writer/photographer for Half Moon Bay Magazine and Pacifica Magazine in SF Bay Area. She wrote and photographed a monthly article called "Against the Tide," which focused on unsung heroes and inspiring people in the community.
Cat graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans in 2002 with a BA in English, then went on to study photojournalism at Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura, CA. She earned her Master’s degree in Multimedia Communications with an emphasis on video journalism from Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2011.
Cat lives in South Burlington, Vermont, with her husband, Artist Ross Sheehan, their daughter, Remy, and son, Bo. She is originally from New Hampshire and grew up on Lake Winnipesaukee. She serves the entire state of Vermont and will travel throughout New England.
